Demonstrating dB(A) Noise Reduction EffectHome | Contact Us
The interactive diagram below illustrates the effect of different levels of dB(A) noise reduction on the human ear.
Click on the first button to hear the starting noise source - a recording of an Intel blade server running at 78 dB(A) noise output. You may need to increase the volume to simulate a loud noise to get the full effect!
Next, click on the buttons on the right to hear what happens to the sound when different dB(A) noise reduction levels are applied.
When you listen, remember that quiet racks not only reduce the sound power level, they also change the sound to a lower frequency so that it is more like a quiet "hum" rather than a "hiss" - which is far less perceptible.
